Caribbean clubs to meet and share
Representatives from the Advertising Club of the Virgin Islands, the Trinidad based Caribbean Advertising Federation and San Juan based Asociacion agencia publicitarias de Puerto Rico are planning to meet in December in Old San Juan with Anne Grigsby, the Fourth District ADDY Chair for the American Advertising Federation's Fourth District, which inlcudes Florida and the Caribbean. Grigsby, an associate creative director at the Boca Raton office of J. Walter Thompson, will meet with club reps to discuss the ADDYS and the resources the Fourth District can offer to its three clubs in the Caribbean region.

Don't miss auction May 7 at Wyndham
Every year the Ad Club stages an auction of goods and services to benefit its summer internship program and Professional Series .This year's event - May 7- at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort in St.Thomas offers lots of great bargains for a good cause. The action gets underway at 6p.m. on the terrace with cocktails, and hors doeuvres, and then moves inside to the ballroom, where auctioneer Sam Topp will start the bidding. Reserve now for Janaury luncheon
The Advertising Club of the Virgin Islands will host a lunc January 13 at Palm Courts Harborview Hotel in St.Thomas and January 14 At Caravelle Hotel in St.Croix. Catherine A. Bolton, Executive Director and COO of the Public Relations Society of America will be the featured speaker. She will discuss the crucial role of public relations in the marketplace.

Tourism panel offers diverse points of view
A panel of six tourism marketing experts from Puerto Rico, BVI, Grenada, St.Kitts and Dominica addressed members of the Virgin Island business community at a luncheon October 14, 2003 at Palm Courts Harborview in St. Thomas. Panelists , who were visiting St.Thomas for the 22nd annual Caribbean Tourism Conference, represented advertising and public relations agencies, tourism departments in the Caribbean and their states side offices. Each panelist outlined specific marketing strategies for his or her island, and answered questions from the audience.

Ad Club kicks off social season
The Art of Advertising was the theme for an exhibit of entres and winners from the 2003 ADDY/ADVI Gala at St.Croix's Florence Williams Library September 25. And members from St.Thomas and St.John geard up at the Wine Down at the Renaissance Grande Beach Resort September 26.

Cable TV focus of March luncheon
Jerry Dominus, Vice President of Network Sales and Marketing , Cabletelevison Advertising Bureau will address the ad club at the noon luncheon March 11 at The Old Mill in St.Thomas and March 12 at Caravelle Hotel in St.Croix beginning at noon As the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau's Vice President of Network Sales and Marketing, Jerry Dominus is responsible for developing strategies and programs designed to build ad-supported cable's use by national advertisers.For reservations on St. Thomas call 776-7828 and for St. Croix, call 719-0578. Thomas kicks off Professional Series aboard cruise ship
About seventy-five ad club members and guests met aboard the Carnival cruise ship Pride in St.Thomas October 8 for the first luncheon presentation of the 2002-2003 professional series. Ed Thomas, president of West Indies Co (WICO) discussed the upcoming cruise ship season and reviewed what he called the Post September 11th Cruise Tourism Recovery.

St Croix hosts Sun Airways, St. Croix Alive
On October 9, the Ad Club St. Croix Chapter welcomed Bruce Casner from Washington, D.C. and Michael Molina from St.Thomas; two of the three partners in the proposed new Sun Airways, which hopes to start jet service from here next summer. St. Croix business man Hugh Dalton, from Dalton Associates also spoke about marketing efforts with the St. Croix Alive, a private citizen group to help promote St. Croix.
