A publication made in the Caribbean Virgin Voice is a publication that celebrates the culture, lifestyle and commerce of the U.S.and British Virgin Islands and Old San Juan Puerto Rico. It's not some travel writer's concept of the region. It's written by people who actually live here.

Investing in the Caribbean It was a different world in 1996. The U.S. economy was booming and the World Trade Center tragedy and the Iraq War were almost unimaginable.
In this climate of prosperity the Caribbean Hotel Association, in cooperation with the Caribbean Tourism Organization, held its first conference to stimulate the flow of capital investments through the region’s tourism infrastructure.
Over the years bankers, investors, hotel chain executives, regional directors and many other interested parties have traveled to various locations in the Caribbean to network with each other and members of the tourism industry. The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference (CHTIC) became the primary deal-making event between the private and public center, among those interested in developing new partnerships in the region.
In May, in the midst of an ever weakening dollar, an international oil crisis and the uncertainty of a presidential election, the CHA and CTO co-sponsored the 12th CHTIC.
Nobody knew what to expect, but the outcome was extraordinary.
A record number of total of 522 delegates, a thirty percent increase from last year, traveled to Trinidad to attend. |
